Port handling

OBJECTIVES AND SKILLS DEVELOPED:

  • Understanding the functioning of a container terminal
  • Knowledge of the main components of equipment
  • Theoretical skills necessary for operating equipment
  • Mastery of safety and productivity rules for equipment operation
  • Communication with various stakeholders
  • Routine checks at the beginning and end of shifts and reporting on observed anomalies

This training is open to any operator required to operate equipment in a Port Terminal.

  • Be 18 years old or older
  • Fit to operate equipments (fitness test, height test, medical test)
  • B license preferred
  • Ability to read, write and communicate, understand and carry out instructions

Active pedagogy centered on the learner (restricted groups of 2 to 4 people) with implementation of demonstrative methods on port operating sites. At the end of the training, the learner will be able to drive the machine in question, safely, with a very high level of professionalism and productivity.
Training in this area is carried out according to the best international standards.

TRAINING CONTENT

MODULE 1 : HANDLING MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT

  • Q Quay Crane: 25 days – group of 2 people
  • Rubber Tyred Gantry: 20 days – group of 3 people
  • Empty Handler: 10 days – group of 3 people
  • Reach Stacker: 10 days – group of 3 people
  • Heavy Forklift: 5 days – group of 4 people
  • Light Forklift: 3 days – group of 4 people

MODULE 2 : OPERATIONS

  • Vessel Planner
  • Yard Planner
  • Dispatcher
  • Operations Supervisor

The trainings offered are conducted by experienced trainers (over 15 years of service as trainers and professionals in major container terminals). The trainings develop knowledge, practical skills, and the professional attitude needed in a container terminal. Daily follow-up is conducted, and detailed reporting is shared with management regarding learner progress.
